I am Holly Peterson
I was born in the mid 60’s, and I have had massage and bodywork ever since I can remember. On my first day of massage school I learned that daily touch was not part of most people’s lives. I found this so odd because I don’t remember it NOT being part of my daily life. We are four children in our family, and all athletic. After a long day of school, swim team, riding horses or any of the many other activities we were involved in, it was always nice to be worked on…whether it was my back, my feet, my head. Myself or my siblings…someone was always getting worked on. So to learn that most people didn’t have any bodywork of any sort within their family, I thought…wow, how unfortunate for them. It was this time that I also realized the benefit of body work for our four legged friends. I began borrowing my friend’s horses to practice on. So here I am…near 30 years later…..still amazed when I learn that someone doesn’t have bodywork in their family, or that only a parent is having bodywork.
I enrolled in the Massage School of Santa Monica in the early 90's, and gave my first professional massage in 1992. I furthered my studies to include Prenatal Massage, Infant Massage, Postpartum Massage, Sports Therapy, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Swedish Massage, and Deep Tissue Massage. Another focus of study is Equine Massage Therapy and Equine Acupressure. Having the desire to even further my knowledge, I enrolled in school again at Healing Hands School of Holistic Health to obtain my Holistic Health Practitioner certification. During this time, I added the modalities of Shiatsu, Tui-Na, Clinical Accupressure, Reiki, Lomi Lomi, Thai Massage, Advanced Circulatory/Sports Massage, Lymph Drainage, Yoga Massage. Intuitive massage and energy work is a modality that comes to me naturally as a gift. It is an alternative healing modality that is most strong and powerful.
As a mother of two, I find bodywork with my children to be an exceptional tool to ease stress, to calm, to comfort, to relax and to bond with them.
I am a proponent of la Leche League, natural childbirth, infant massage and newborn cranial sacral therapy, alternative therapies for challenged children, art and animal therapies and intuitive healing, energetic body work, amongst others.
